It is notable how many of the Dutch names and traditional trades, particularly cigar making, are starting to disappear in this register. The community are branching out and working in all manner of different jobs across the city including: wood carvers, electricians, milliners, pastry cooks, upholsters and cardboard box makers although the majority are still working locally in the tailoring, cabinet making and fur trades.
